The project consisted of developing a diagnostic equipment for ultrasound inspection of automatic welded joints of railway car buffers. The project has been ordered by KAMAX SA, Kańczuga, Poland (at present – under Axtone ownership).
The equipment implements multichannel immersion inspection of a buffer. The methodology of the testing conforms with the industry standards and has been elaborated in details as a part of the project. As a hardware, a multichannel, multiplexed ultrasound flaw detector fabricated by Ultramet company has been used.
The software drives the measurement equipment, performs data acquisition and analysis and produces automated verdict along with all associated reports. The measurement results are stored in a local database.
